Schoups giving lectures in the traffic safety auditor programme at the university of Ghent 2014-05
Private Construction Law
23 December 2014
In November 2014, the Institute for Continuing Education of the University of Ghent initiated the Traffic Safety Auditor programme, in collaboration with the Opzoekingscentrum voor de wegenbouw (OCW - Belgian Road Research Centre).
Traffic safety auditing is a procedure that helps to increase traffic safety. Since December 2013, such audits have become obligatory for all new infrastructure projects on the trans-European road network.
Once again this year, the training offered by the programme is composed of three parts. In the first part a sound theoretical basis is given, while in the second part the traffic safety management procedure is addressed. The third part is practice-oriented:
Part I: Theoretical backgrounds: 6, 13 and 20 November, 1, 4, 11 and 18 December 2014
Part II: Traffic safety management procedure: 18 December 2014, 8, 15 and 22 January 2015
Part III: Practical aspects: 29 January and 12 February 2015
This programme makes it possible to obtain a certificate from the University of Ghent. Such a certificate is one of the conditions for authorisation as a traffic safety auditor by the Flemish Government.
In this series of lectures, Attys Marco Schoups, Maarten Somers and Siegfried Busscher will again give presentations on the legal aspects of traffic safety auditing on 22 January 2015.
