Bill on the organisation of hearings by videoconference as part of judicial proceedings

On 1st December 2023, Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt presented the bill DOC 55 3722/001. It aims to improve citizen’s access to justice, to speed up the handling of court cases, as well as to increase the public nature of hearings through the use of videoconferencing in both civil and criminal proceedings.
