On Thursday June 4th, Marco Schoups gave the closing talk at the afternoon seminar on « The unforeseen and the unforeseeable in private and public construction contracts ». This training session was organised by the Belgian Association for Construction Law and was held in Brussels.

Addressed at this afternoon seminar were such subjects as The basic concepts of the Belgian law of obligations: flat fee, force majeure, hardship, etc., Regulating unforeseen circumstances in international construction contracts, Regulating unforeseen circumstances in the Belgian law of classic public procurement contracts, Regulating unforeseen circumstances in Public Private Partnerships, Risk management methods between financial and legal: budgeting, delay penalties, etc..

The presentations were followed by an analysis and discussion about the typology of unforeseen circumstances.
