New flash social inspections in the construction sector on 30 May 2017

Employment Law

10 May 2017

In earlier newsletters we’ve already alerted you that the inspection services would be conducting "flash social inspections" in fraud-sensitive sectors (see our newsletters of 22 June 2016 and 4 May 2016).

These are inspections that are announced in advance on the website of the Sociale Inlichtingen- en Opsporingsdienst (SIOD - Social Information and Investigation Service) to counter social fraud in a number of fraud-sensitive sectors (including the construction, transport and cleaning sectors). They are performed alongside the classic, unannounced inspections.

The next flash social inspections for the construction sector will be held on Tuesday, 30 May 2017.

During such an inspection, you can receive a visit from several inspection services at the same time (e.g. NSSO, FPS Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue, the National Employment Office). They each conduct an inspection relating to the aspects for which they are competent.

On the SIOD website you´ll find a checklist spelling out what documents a social inspector might request. This is just an indicative list, but it gives you an idea of the things the inspection services will focus on.
