JC 218 replaced by JC 200

Four Royal Decrees were published in the Belgian Official Journal of 25 April 2014 modifying the areas of application of the Joint Committees no. 100, 200, 335 and 337.   It is striking that the JC no. 200 will henceforth function as the supplementary Joint Committee for white-collar employees instead of the current JC no. 218. JC no. 200 is competent for “employees who primarily perform intellectual labour and their employers and who do not come under their own, nor under a supplementary Joint Committee for the non-profit sector”.   The JC no. 200 has yet to be composed. As soon as its members have been appointed, the current JC no. 218 will be repealed.   For most employees, this shift in authority will have few consequences, since all existing CLA´s of JC no. 218 will be taken over by JC no. 200.   The employees who currently fall under JC no. 200 will be transferred to JC no. 335 for the provision of services to and the support of business and the self-employed, or to JC no. 337 for the non-profit sector (as soon as these joint committees are composed).   In addition, an all-new Joint Committee no. 314 will also be set up for the banking and investment services.
