23 March 2017 – Schoups organised breakfast session on "What to watch out for in transactions relating to property/real estate companies"

On Thursday, 23 March 2017, Gwen Bevers (Business Law practice group) and Kristof Hectors (Environmental Law practice group) gave a presentation on several important legal aspects of transactions concerning property (asset transactions) and real estate companies (share transactions). Kristof Hectors discussed the things to watch out for concerning asset transactions and delved into the environmental-law and public-law considerations, the obligatory mentions and civil-law aspects.

Gwen Bevers discussed the important points concerning real estate company transfers. The following topics were discussed during this presentation: object of the purchase/sale, price methodology (pricing), general guarantees vs. special indemnifications, limitations liability seller and guarantees and indemnifications vs. securities.
