Rating Office for obligatory construction insurance (at last) operational

Since 1 July 2018, contractors, architects and other service providers in the construction sector are obliged to insure their ten-year civil liability (Cf. Peeters Act of 31 May 2017). On the grounds of the Ducarme Act , architects and other intellectual professionals in the construction sector (including surveyor-experts, safety and health coordinators) are also obliged to insure their civil liability since 1 July 2019.

To avoid companies not complying with their legal compulsory insurance, both the Peeters Act and the Ducarme Act provided for the establishment of a Rating Office.
