Federal Government aims for sustainable public contracts and accessibility to SMEs

On 19 November 2021 the Federal Council of Ministers approved the 2021-2023 Federal Procurement Policy Memo of public administration minister Petra De Sutter. In accordance with this memo, the federal procurement policy must be geared more towards increasing the participation rate of SMEs in public contracts and promoting sustainability in public service contracts and public supply contracts. A list of preferred products labelled sustainable will be published, among other things.
