Entry into force of the decree on environmental delinquency: the Walloon Region steps up the fight against environmental crime

On 1st July of this year the Walloon decree of 6th May 2019 on environmental delinquency and its amending decree of 24th November 2021 will enter into force. These decrees are part of the Walloon repressive environmental policy strategy. They seek to detect, prosecute and punish, as a priority and more effectively, environmental offences. In particular, their aim is to improve the fight against littering, water, air and soil pollution as well as animal welfare violations.
